Taking Edibles and Dabs because stitches!

My weekend did not get better, but ended with me in the ER getting stitches in my finger and having limited hand mobility. So we are taking edibles and lots of dabs because I need to forget about my hand for a little bit.

I also share the trick to how I maintain my positivity and happiness, even in these locura times.

Cinco de Mayo Salsa! Dos Ways!

Hola Amigas!

Where do I even begin? The past two weeks have been more difficult on my mental health, and then making videos and blogs on top of everything. Well it became too much so I got behind on editing and videos, and then pretty much nothing went right while filming so I am sorry for the lateness and the different format!

While this video was a pain to make the end result is soo worth it! Believe me I was snacking on it yesterday, and got sooooooo high! And it lasted because I just kept eating, which might also be why this is out late…..

I actually really enjoyed this format so who knows I might keep this video format for a while, what do you think?

On to la receta!!

This salsa is quick and easy, and low on mess! Let’s be honest, nobody wants to actually cook during quarantine and Stay-At-Home Orders. Plus it comes together with very little work on your part, what more can us stoners want?!

Salsa Verde :

1lb of tomatillos

2 jalepenos (I deseed both of mine, and the result was mild)

3 cloves of garlic

1 medium white onion

3 tbs CannaOil – https://sativazebra.com/2020/04/06/crazy-easy-infused-butter/

1/2 bunch of cilantro

Juice of 1 Lime

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

Salt and Pepper to Taste

Take your tomatillos, jalepenos, garlic, and onion and roast them. I used my broiler, but you can grill them, place on a cast iron, or on the stove. We just want to get them roasted and I like some of that burnt ends flavor.

Once roasted, let them cool for a couple minutes. Then add those into a blender along with the CannaOil, Lime Juice, Cilantro, Cumin, Paprika, Salt, and Paper.

Then Blend it up!! Once blended you can serve or let cool and serve!

Salsa Rojo!

1lb of tomatoes

1/2 bunch of cilantro

1 tsp cumin

Follow the same recipes as the salsa verde. I roasted all of my ingredients at the same time, and then separated the ingredients as I blended the salsa.

Once roasted, let the items cool for a couple minutes. Then add those into a blender along with the CannaOil, Cilantro, Cumin, Paprika, Salt, and Paper.

Then Blend it up!! Once blended you can serve or let cool and serve!

What did I tell you? Easy, Delicious, and Little Dishes; that’s my kind of recipe!

CannaMints | CannaButtermints Recipe | Munchie Monday | Kush Kitchen

Hola Amigas!

This week I am making some buttermints. Buttermints are my favorite type of mint, but for some reason you can only find them at weddings and around Easter.

I decided to make my own, since I was getting tired of store bought edibles.

For this recipe you will need:

1 stick CannaButter

4 cups of Powdered Sugar

2 tps of Mint Extract

May need an additional 2-4 tbs of water to help it knead together.

Using a Stand Mixer

Place your butter and mint extract into dish and whip together. Slowly add sugar and allow to knead together. You may need to add a little extra of water, but it should look like a dough ball.

Manual Directions

Whisk the softened butter and extract together, slowly fold in sugar in a bowl. Once it is a crumbly texture you can place on counter top and begin kneading the dough together.

Once the dough is sticking together, split into 4 equal size portions. You can place the dough in a mold, or just roll and cut them. You can keep all sizes equal or make bigger and smaller mints depending on your dosing.

Allow the buttermints to sit out overnight to dry, or place in a dehydrator at 320F for 4 hours.

Crazy Easy Infused Butter

Welcome back to another Munchie Monday’s in my Kush Kitchen!

Guys, I used to hate making infused butter aka cannabutter. It was a long and smelly process but it’s necessary for any Kush Kitchen.

After some research and experimentation, I have found the best way to make you own cannabutter!

I am obsessed with my Instant Pot, like my immersion blender, it’s well loved and has become a staple in my kitchen. I’m sure any other pressure cooker would work just as well, but you may need to tweak the time or settings.

I knew I needed to make 2 sticks of cannabutter, with one stick containing 100mg of extract

200mg (mg I want in butter) / .7125 (Potency) = 280.701mg

280.701mg * 1000 = .281 g of wax needed. Further rounded to .28g of wax.

*** I used more cannabis CO2 oil in mine because future recipes require it. The butter amount remains the same.

Place your concentrate into a glass dish or canning jar. The instant pot comes with a wire rack for steaming, or use a different way elevate the dish. Place dish and fill the pot with water. The water level should rise midway up the container.

Close your pressure cooker and seal. Set to high pressure for 7 minutes, turn off warming feature.

When the instant pot finishes decarbing our concentrate, do an instant realize. You can cover the steam spout with a towel.

Place softened butter into your container. It will begin to melt and mix into our oil. Place the lid on with the valve set to seal. Place on high pressure for 15 minutes.

Once again do an instant release of pressure. Mix the butter to ensure even dispersion. Remove from instant pot, and blend for about 5 minutes while bowl cools down.

Place in fridge and let cool for 1-2 hours.

That’s it! Literally!

You can use this butter in cookies, brownies, to flavor your veggies! Use in a ‘baked’ potato, or mix with cinnamon for a cinnamon butter to pair with toast or biscuits.

Don’t use this to sear or fry food as that will cause the THC to degrade. This butter is meant to add flavor and should not be used if the temperature will go over 350F

California Edibles Review!

Hello Friends!

I have been working on this review for a while! When I say “working” I mean getting high a lot and trying to remember my thoughts!

Without further ado, my first review!

The first edible, of three, is KushyPunch’s Sugarfree Lychee Gunmy. Which boasts full spectrum oil and sixty minute activation; with 10 milligrams of THC and .1 milligram of CBD.

I promised to be honest, so no hate to KushyPunch these just weren’t what I was expecting. Most of the gummies I have had are the sugar coated ones, and so that was my expectation. I figured that these would be a firmer texture and this was like jello but slightly firmer.

The other thing may be a cultural difference. I live in Colorado am used to our edibles. Most of them have masked the cannabis flavor or just don’t have one that’s prevalent. This was not the case with these, that earthy weed taste is all I got, mixed with a sweet after taste. The high was good! I normally take an edible then vape or smoke some flower to help, the edible kick in. I felt the edible high within 30 minutes and it lasted for a while!

Also I noticed this giant bubble, so that was disappointing. Lastly, these were kind of difficult to separate, I had to pull pretty hard to finally get one or two servings. I think it’s supposed to be you punch the gummy through the aluminum. I tried and the stuff is so squishy that I literally couldn’t! Although, I did think that I had messed up the gummy, but it was fine! Let’s just say I won’t be going back, but this was the cheapest edible from the delivery service.

Strong weed flavor (unless you like that)

Quality Control is lacking

Overall I would give this one out of five zebras! 🦓

Edibles in the tin

The second edible I purchased is by PLUS in the Unwind Category with Blackberry and Lemon flavors. Each gummy has 4.5 milligrams of THC and .5 milligrams of CBD .

This does have two flavors so I will start with the Lemon. These gummies are pretty traditional with a sugar coating however these are really firm, like a warm starburst. The lemon comes through nicely, as does a decent taste of weed. The blackberry gummies have a stronger initial flavor and weed flavor, I didn’t mind it as much with the blackberry as I did with the lemon. Quick side note, I really enjoyed the packaging and found that I would just play with the tin.

The high hit quick for me, like maybe 20 minutes! I don’t think I would purchase these gummies again, because of the texture. I am very picky and textures are my biggest problem area. The quick high isn’t enough to make me forget that texture or the stronger weed taste.

Lastly, Rose Los Angeles Delights which are like a Turkish Delight. I do want to say sorry to Rose, I didn’t treat the delights nicely and so they don’t look great in the images. They did look awesome when I first got them. I believe that these are meant to have about 5mg of THC per delight, mine had a potency of 4.68 mg per delight.

These were my favorite edibles out of this bunch! The texture is what I was expecting and the flavors were insane. When I make my own edibles, I try to blend the flavor of the cannabis with the food; and that is what Rose Los Angeles has done. They used a single strain Orange Fire Rosin. Lets get to the flavors there’s Rose Hibiscus, Alphonso Mango, Matcha Coconut Lime, and Sour Cherry Vanilla. The Rose Hibiscus was perfect as the hibiscus is the first flavor, typically rose flavored things are over powering but this mixed with the resin flavor to give just a hint of rose. The alphonso mango was super interesting, the mango was the first taste but then there was an earthy-spiciness which I am assuming comes from the rosin. The matcha coconut lime, isn’t my favorite but I’m not a huge matcha fan. That being said I really enjoyed how the flavors played off each other, but didn’t get a coconut flavor. The Sour Cherry Vanilla is my favorite! It has all the tastes first you get the sour cherry, but then a spicy citrus from the rosin, then the vanilla and spiciness blend for the final taste. Due to the lower THC content, I did increase my normal dosing but I don’t think that was necessary. I found the high to be more of a head high which is due to the terpenes being ingested which thus effects the high.

As for the packaging, it’s pretty and minimalistic and has a soft touch card stock. The two “issues” are I struggled to figure out what the companies name is because it’s not really on the packaging. Lastly, I don’t understand how the packaging is supposed to open because mine just ripped. This isn’t a major issue for me because I struggle to open most packaging; usually I purposefully mess up the Child Resistant (CR) feature.
