Cannabis Tourism? What is that?

Hola Amigas!

Recently there seems to be one topic on everyone’s mind, Cannabis Tourism. We are all itching to get out of our houses and see friends while getting high AF! Okay that last bit might just be my desire, but I’m sure I’m not alone. So while we are stuck in our rooms, we might as well plan our own Cannabis Vacation!

Cannabis Tourism is simply put the visitors who come from out of state, or country, and purchase cannabis while visiting; at least that’s how the “Man” classifies it.

As Cannabis has become more mainstream, many people have flocked to Colorado to experience buying cannabis legally and sometimes they want to learn more about it. This has caused cannabis tourism to break into different categories and services.

If you are planning on coming to Colorado, there are two main resources Colorado Cannabis Tours and My 420 Tours. Both of these offer companies offer a variety of classes and experiences that you can enjoy. If you wanted to visit a commercial grow facility, you can sign up and get a behind the scenes of how your flower is made. You could also learn how your favorite concentrates are made by planning a visit to an extraction facility.

If you would rather just get high and be social, then they also offer classes like a puff and paint class. Or you can learn how to roll joints and sushi, or just learn how to infuse your own foods in a cooking class. (Or watch my Youtube Channel)

One benefit of using these tour companies is that you don’t have to worry about getting around because they have cars or buses that will make sure you arrive high and in style.

The second benefit is that these companies usually create partnerships so that you can ensure to have these experiences. You are also guaranteed to have a good experience because you can sit back and enjoy knowing everything else is settled.

One caveat is cannabis massages, as this has become an offering activity for these tours. While I am sure their massages are nice, you can usually find a cannabis massage by a quick google search. I’m not kidding, we went to Boulder for a work trip and I decided I was gonna get a cannabis massage. I founded a masseuse who was wonderful, offered edibles prior to the massage, and then used a cannabis topical all over. After that massage, I was so relaxed and just felt like I could take on the world! I seriously can’t wait to go back to Boulder for this massage and all the yummy food, oh and the cannabis offerings are on another level, compared to my city.

One other type of Cannabis Tourism coming into fruition is Cannabis Hospitality Businesses. Although if you want that blog post and video, you will have to like and subscribe!

Yep I am teasing you guys, so be prepared for next week’s post about Cannabis Hospitality!

I love you guys, thank you so much for supporting me! I am wishing you all the love, light, joy, and positivity your way! Also next time your high, know I’m with you!

CBD Vapes are a Scam

Hola Amigas!

I decided that I wanted to take a step back from using THC and using more CBD for just medical benefits. For the past 2 years, I have been relying on typical cannabis edibles with some added CBD but haven’t been focusing on that dosing. I would pretty much only use CBD on bad days as a topical; now I will be using hemp-based products and only socially getting high.

I really enjoy vaping, and using cannabis in every form and with working in the industry, I have high standards for what I purchase. I wanted to make sure that I was getting the same quality from the CBD products as I expect from my cannabis products.

My first problem is that there seems to be thousands of these CBD companies and it’s difficult to determine which companies are legit and following all the proper rules and standards. This is incredibly frustrating because I have worked in the industry and have so much cannabis knowledge and I couldn’t find a product that I wanted to buy. I spent about 6 hours looking for a product to buy and came up with nothing.

Okay so why am I saying they are scamming you?

Like I said I love to vape because it is the only way I have been able to experience the mental health benefits. Edibles and topicals work really well with addressing my daily body pains, but can’t quiet my mind or give any other mental health benefits.

I wanted a product like all the THC cartridges I buy. A simple cannabis oil, or in this case CBD oil, with the natural cannabis terpenes or natural terpenes. I didn’t think this was a big ask, but after 6 hours of looking I came up with 0 products that met my needs.

Every single CBD vape company I looked into is using Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG). These ingredients have been found safe for inhalation and gives you the clouds when you smoke. However, we really don’t know the long term effects of those products. When I vape, I want it as close to the plant as possible so natural oil and terpenes.

When you purchase these vape juices you aren’t paying for the CBD, but rather the PG and VG because they use such a minute amount of CBD. Even in the disposable CBD vape pens, they are still cut with a PG/VG mix. I didn’t find a single CBD company that didn’t cut their CBD vape product. NOT ONE!

So I didn’t want to like call anyone out, but during my research I found out the Pure Kanna is using MCT oil to cut their vapes. MCT Oil is currently a prohibited cutting agent in Colorado, I will put a link below so you can see the memo. Pure Kanna is the first company that pops up when you search for CBD vapes, and that worries me! If you are using Pure Kanna you need to STOP USING IMMEDIATELY. Switch to a PG/VG mix.

Even after all of this, I decided that I was still gonna purchase one of these vape juices because I didn’t want to leave the house if I didn’t have to leave. That’s when I realized how poor the dosing is for every company I looked into.

My whole thing with cannabis, is that I use it as part of medical well-being to treat the pain associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Dosing is vital and I need a minimum of 10 mgs a day. Even with microdosing, I would need 2.5mgs a day.

This is the ultimate way these companies are SCAMMING YOU!

Most of the disposable vape pens were claiming 30-50mgs, and they make it sound like this is all you need to get the health benefits. However that is for the entire pen, and you would have to smoke at least a quarter of that vape to get a decent dosing. I don’t want to have to smoke a quarter of a cartridge or vape just to get some medical benefits.

Those disposable vape pens were also priced $20-$40 depending on the brand, compared to my Cannabis vape pen which has more CBD and also THC for the entourage effect, and cost $20. I also don’t have to smoke nearly as much to get the same benefits, also this cannabis vape pen is not cut and therefore better.

For the larger bottles of vape juice, like 120 mls, can be incredibly expensive. I made the assumption that an average tank/pod size is 1ml. I took 100/120 to give the dosing in 1ml. If you vaped an entire tank/pod you would only inhale .83333mg of CBD….. A microdose is considered 2.5mgs. For smaller more concentrated vape juices, like a 30ml, would give you 3.3333mf of CBD per tank but again you would need to consume the entire tank to get those benefits.

I only found 1 company, where you could get a vape juice at 100mg dose per 1ml, and that cost $400! I don’t know many people who could afford that.

These companies are literally banking on you to not understand what a proper dose is, and because of that they are snake oil. They are literally putting enough CBD in their to make you think you are being healthy, but in fact they are forcing you to get hooked on these juices!

As an industry professional, I know for a fact that CBD is cheap to buy wholesale. Now a CBD isolate will cost more than a CBD oil because it requires more lab work to ensure that the CBD molecules crystallize. (If you want more information about the science/lab stuff leave a comment!)

Even with a CBD isolate being more labor intensive, this product is still cheap and can be purchased for under $5 a gram. A larger company could get their CBD isolate for around $2 a gram. So why are you paying $40 for 100mg?

I don’t have any type of CBD dispensary near me, and most of the online websites only sell their products. Many of the websites seem like a spam or fraud website and so I don’t want to purchase. While regular dispensaries have some CBD only products, the ones near me have a very limited stock and usually don’t carry a CBD only vape.

I found this incredibly seedy and despicable. If you take nothing else, make sure you are checking to see what the dosing is per serving. Most edible and topical products have this written somewhere, or at the very least mention the total CBD amount. You can then divide the CBD by servings to help you to understand.

The edible and topical companies online have been promising, but be careful about the CBD products from your local Walmart, Walgreens, and Target because those have been the worst offenders.

Now I want to help you, so I will be doing so much more research to find the best CBD products. I will do the research so you don’t have to!

Kelcie

Crazy Easy Infused Butter

Welcome back to another Munchie Monday’s in my Kush Kitchen!

Guys, I used to hate making infused butter aka cannabutter. It was a long and smelly process but it’s necessary for any Kush Kitchen.

After some research and experimentation, I have found the best way to make you own cannabutter!

I am obsessed with my Instant Pot, like my immersion blender, it’s well loved and has become a staple in my kitchen. I’m sure any other pressure cooker would work just as well, but you may need to tweak the time or settings.

I knew I needed to make 2 sticks of cannabutter, with one stick containing 100mg of extract

200mg (mg I want in butter) / .7125 (Potency) = 280.701mg

280.701mg * 1000 = .281 g of wax needed. Further rounded to .28g of wax.

*** I used more cannabis CO2 oil in mine because future recipes require it. The butter amount remains the same.

Place your concentrate into a glass dish or canning jar. The instant pot comes with a wire rack for steaming, or use a different way elevate the dish. Place dish and fill the pot with water. The water level should rise midway up the container.

Close your pressure cooker and seal. Set to high pressure for 7 minutes, turn off warming feature.

When the instant pot finishes decarbing our concentrate, do an instant realize. You can cover the steam spout with a towel.

Place softened butter into your container. It will begin to melt and mix into our oil. Place the lid on with the valve set to seal. Place on high pressure for 15 minutes.

Once again do an instant release of pressure. Mix the butter to ensure even dispersion. Remove from instant pot, and blend for about 5 minutes while bowl cools down.

Place in fridge and let cool for 1-2 hours.

That’s it! Literally!

You can use this butter in cookies, brownies, to flavor your veggies! Use in a ‘baked’ potato, or mix with cinnamon for a cinnamon butter to pair with toast or biscuits.

Don’t use this to sear or fry food as that will cause the THC to degrade. This butter is meant to add flavor and should not be used if the temperature will go over 350F

How are you gonna use this recipe? What infused recipes would you like to see?
