Why Sativa Zebra?

You are probably looking at this site and thinking “Why did this chick choose the name Sativa Zebra for her blog?” Good Question!

Sativa! Cannabis has been traditionally categorized as either a Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid. Sativa strains are believed to have uplifting, social, creative, and energizing effects. Indica strains are believed to have relaxing, calming, and tranquil effects; while Hybrid can have varying effects due to breeding. As we get to know each other, you will learn that I have a lot of energy. Like, a lot guys! I am easily excitable and have had nicknames like Bubbles and Energizer Bunny.

Why Zebra? Well the Zebra is the mascot for those who have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder. I won’t go into all the details but I was diagnosed in July 2013, and have daily pain literally everywhere. My pain used to be so horrific that I struggled to work 4 hours a WEEK! I turned to cannabis to mitigate my pain, and keep from using narcotics and opiods, and have never turned back!

The other reason I chose Zebra is because Zebras are herbivores, which is what I am now. I made the decision to go plant based in May 2019, and this has also incredibly helped me to manage my daily pain.

Hopefully, this will help you to understand me a little bit better! If you want to learn more about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome you can go on over here,
